Oftentimes, window treatments are one of the final touches to a room. However, the mood and atmosphere can change by utilizing different solutions. Looking at the blank canvas above, the room is full of natural light and the overall design uses neutrals. We created two looks to complete this room with window treatments – one with soft treatments and another with shutters.

LOOK ONE
STEP ONE: CHOOSE FABRIC SHADES
Soft fashion window treatments are a great way to add color and pattern to a space. We chose a pattern from our Materials Library to create custom fabric shades that tie together the neutrals and pops of green that are already in the room.

STEP TWO: ADD DRAPERIES
To frame the double doors, we added kick pleat draperies with tie tabs on Kirsch® Wrought Iron poles. The wrought iron pulls from the other finishes in the room. By setting the poles higher to the ceiling, we draw the eye upward and keep the space feeling large and light. We could call this a done deal, but why stop here?

STEP THREE: LAYER IT UP
To top off the look, we added valances in the same fabric as the draperies. The simple, clean lines complement the space without adding too much fuss.

LOOK TWO
STEP ONE: CHOOSE SHUTTER
For our second solution, we chose to highlight the wooden beam and architecture of the room with custom crafted shutters. Shutters provide directional light control from floor to ceiling or from left to right, depending on louver orientation.
STEP TWO: CHOOSE WOOD FINISH
Our Woodland Harvest® Custom Shutters are made with premium select hardwoods. UV inhibitors in our finish help resist color fading and yellowing, even in the hottest windows. For those wanting a more special look, we can custom color match as well! Our water-based paints are environmentally safe in your home.
